Adventures of the Lost
My name is Aleck.
I'm lost and I don't know who I am.
I have embarked on a quest to find myself.
And let me tell you, it's one hell of a ride.
Maybe some people should focus less on being “forever alone”, and just live life.
It’s been a while.

Is anyone alive?
photography
i absolutely hate people who act like they’re photographers.
to me, photographers have this indescribable, burning passion for photography, and people who try to imitate this can go fuck themselves. they make it seem as if it’s a piece of cake; just pressing a shutter button and getting a picture. it doesn’t work like that.
photography isn’t just about having a fancy camera, and being able to take a picture in one angle in an auto setting. it’s not about spending as much money as you can on equipment, which by the way, you are wasting a shitload of money, if you are.
it’s so much more than what people think. a photographer is someone who actually knows principles to heart (i.e. light, composition, angles); someone who knows how to use manual settings, someone who knows photography inside and out. it’s someone who can see and analyze situations to create a well composed photograph, even if the situation is uninteresting at first. true photographers are able to make it interesting, to capture the scene in an alluring and fascinating way.
i’m so sick of the people who just “attempt photography”. photography just happens for people who really want it, for people who actually know what they’re doing and have goals for a picture. i feel as if photography is being taken lightly, when it shouldn’t be. photographers actually work and take their time to get their creative, gorgeous photographs and dedicate a lot of time to their passion.
if you want to do photography, be my guest. but im asking you to please respect it. don’t expect to be the greatest photographer of all time within a few weeks. it’s not going to happen. pursue it if you want, and if it turns out that you have a passion for it, great, i’m happy for you. if you’re just doing it because “everyone else is doing it” and “it’s cool having an expensive camera around your neck because people check me out”, then please, stop wasting your time and money and go back to playing with your cellphone camera.
People tell me, “You stress out too much. You worry too much. You think too much. Just go out and live your life.”
I’m still figuring it out.

I think everyone is going through the same shit. Nobody just wants to talk about it.
What am I doing?
